My ‘95 BMW E38 740i r/BMW
The BMW E38 models with DSP option ( S677A HiFi system Professional DSP ) have a subwoofer enclosure behind the rear headrests that has four 5.25" speakers that are configured to play very low bass signals from the stereo due to a crossover built into the DSP amplifier.

#1 · Jan 8, 2011 I have searched the blogs, YouTube, and the Net and I can not find out how to replace the rear deck speakers on my 1999 740IL (e38). The OEM are poor quality to begin with and i just want to replace the dried out and blown out speakers with something that works.
